What to Bring?

Four distinct seasons in the mountains require a variety of clothing. Summer days can be hot, and the evenings cool. Winters can be cols and bring a lot of snow depending on the location. Dress is casual except on special occasions. Please bring:

Sadhana Mat or Asana (for initiates)
Outdoor work clothes
Waterproof footwear
Comfortable clothing for meditation
A flashlight, alarm clock and a phone card if you plan to make calls

The ashrams have arrangements for limited number of beddings and blankets. Hence it is prudent to bring your sleeping bag and blankets for the night.

What We Expect

The ashrams of the lineage of His Holiness Swami Shivom Tirth Maharaj are a sacred place that support an inward process of spiritual development. As part of our community, we ask that you follow the daily schedule. Initiates must be present for the morning and evening meditation. Non-initiates are requested not to sit in the meditation hall during meditation. All the residents of the ashram must attend the morning and evening prayers. Everyone is expected to be present in the dining area for lunch and dinner. Ashram guests are expected to take full responsibility for themselves during their stay. What we offer is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological treatment. Please come with valid medical insurance. All illegal drugs are forbidden. Alcohol and smoking is not permitted during your stay at the ashram.

Our Bookstore

Our bookstore offers a vast collection of books and commentaries on the science of Shaktipat, Upanishads, Sri Bhagwad Gita and other spiritual texts. Most of the titles are in Hindi. The ashram is actively engaged in translation of various books into english. Please check the bookstore for english titles currently available.
